    Onging

    • 2018-2021
      • Project Name: Development and clinical application of multiparametric quantitative MR imaging for carotid artery vulnerable atherosclerotic plaques.
      • Funding Resource: Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC 81771825), 700K CNY / 100K USD
      • Role: Principle Investigator
      • Overall Goals: This study aims to develop three-dimensional multiparametric quantitative MR imaging technique which enables accurately measuring the T1, T2 and T2* values of carotid plaques via a single imaging sequence. The risk of carotid plaques will be stratified by this multiparametric MR imaging and its predictive value for future ischemic cerebrovascular events will be investigated as well.

      • Role: Principle Investigator
      • Overall Goals: This study aims to investigate the etiology of intracranial artery stenosis and risk factors for intracranial atherosclerotic plaque progression in recent stroke patients.

    Completed

    • 2013-2016
      • Project Name: Technical development and clinical application of 3D MR vessel imaging from aortic arch to intracranial artery.
      • Funding Resource: Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC 81271536), 700K CNY / 100K USD
      • Role: Principle Investigator
      • Overall Goals: In this study, using the new developed 3D vessel wall imaging techniques and a new designed and optimized 36-channel neurovascular coil by our group, we plan to investigate the prevalence of vulnerable plaques at the upstream vascular beds of brain. The relationship of vulnerable plaques at these vascular beds with cerebral ischemic lesions will be also evaluated. By doing this study, a 'one-stop-shop' imaging protocol in detecting the culprit lesions of patients with ischemic stroke will be achieved.

      • Project name: Epidemiological investigation of cerebrovascular disease, early screening and intervention of high risk patients and the establishment of GCP
      • Funding Resource: National "Twelfth Five-Year" Plan for Science & Technology Support (2011BAI08B01), 210K CNY / 30K USD
      • Role: Key personnel
      • Overall Goals: To establish a GCP for research on cerebrovascular disease, including early screening, clinical intervention and event.
    • 2011-2013
      • Project Name: Characterization of carotid atherosclerotic plaques and recurrent ischemic cerebrovascular events
      • Funding Resource: Foundation of Beijing Municipal Committee of Science and Technology (D111107003111007), 500K CNY / 74K USD
      • Role: Co- Principle Investigator
      • Overall Goals: To assess the predictive value of carotid plaque MR imaging features for recurrent ischemic stroke.
    • 2011-2013
      • Project Name: Multi-parametric imaging for early detection of brain tumor
      • Funding Resource: Roche-Tsinghua Research Funding, 800K CNY / 114K USD
      • Role: Co- Principal Investigator
      • Overall Goals: In this study, we hypothesized that MR imaging techniques enable early detecting brain glioma; and once the BBB is disrupted by BMFU, it is feasible to deliver drugs and monitor the therapy response using MRI. We aim to: 1) investigate effective diagnostic approaches using MRI for early detection of brain glioma; 2) localize the MR imaging biomarkers for early detection of brain glioma; 3) quantify the changes detected from MRI biomarkers along the progression of brain glioma; 4) find the relationship between MRI biomarkers and tumor grade and subtype. 5) explore the feasibility to break down BBB non-invasively and reversibly; 6) develop non-invasive methods to monitor the status of BBB after BMFU was performed; 7) determine therapeutic effect of drugs for brain glioma after breaking down BBB.
    • 2012-2013
